The Messages Are There

The Messages Are There

I'm getting used to the fact that when I need some advice I need look no further than a book or set of tarot/oracle cardsI can pick a random page or card and it will more or less describes the situation I'm in, and the advice I should take.  So today I needed help with the endless task of job hunting, for it can be quite difficult when there appears to be nothing available and money is beyond tight.

Well my daily tarot card from 'The Druid Craft Tarot Deck'(see the reading below), picked straight up with the money side of things, but also the possibility of building a business - something I have been putting together slowly....with the photos, painting and the crafting.

I decided to see what the Flower Spirit Cards had to say......

My message is surrender.

Surrender is the simple, profound wisdom of yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life. The only place we can truly experience the flow of life is now, in the present, so to surrender is to accept the present moment unconditionally and without resistance. This does not mean giving up, or becoming defeatist, nor does it mean ceasing to make plans or initiating positive action. Surrendering is the most powerful move we can make to bring about positive change. We can say how we feel and take action where necessary, if we simply stay present. When we surrender all judgement and resistance, then the miracle of life unfolds.
If we trust in a higher power and know that we can only live our lives in the present moment, then we can go with the flow more easily and open up to the wonderful blossoming of experiences that unfold around us daily. When we acept what is, every moment becomes the best moment and we gain enlightenment.
Let go and surrender your problems to the creator, releasing the anxiety that comes with trying to control situations the way you want them to be. Become aware of the resistance in your life, then make the intention to relinquish it and become truly concious, by living in the now.

This made me cry when I read it (that could be on account that I've not been sleeping and was very tired), it's a lovely message, but a tough one too...to just surrender.  I know that it's the right thing to do though, as I'm not helping myself by fighting my way through life.  (Apologies to those who have already read this on facebook)
So with both those messages there wasn't any doubt in how I should handle this situation.  However as I'm so tired  and frazzled, and hadn't even really given any thought to blogging, until now, I thought I'd look at today's reading in the book 'The Golden Present' - Sri Swami Satchidananda
It reads as follows....
You Can Influence Your Surroundings
You can build up your strength to the point where you are not influenced by your surroundings; in fact, you can influence the surroundings instead.  You can change the environment if you have the strength of mind; but even if your mind isn't that strong, you can still have the strength not to be affected by the environment.
Learning not to be affected is an important step.  If you are influenced by a situation, how can you change it?  If fifteen people are crying and you go there and join them in the crying, you have simply added one more miserable person; you have not done anything to benefit those people.  Instead, if you are really strong and can maintain your own equanimity, all the people will be benefited by your strength.
Again it's a message of calm composure, trust and inner strength.  I have been focusing on these qualities all day, and along with yoga, meditation and mantra, have been summoning up the strength to let go and trust.  It's difficult when you feel like running round panicking,  but I know it the right thing to do in this situation.  X
