The Messages Are There

The Messages Are There

I'm getting used to the fact that when I need some advice I need look no further than a book or set of tarot/oracle cardsI can pick a random page or card and it will more or less describes the situation I'm in, and the advice I should take.  So today I needed help with the endless task of job hunting, for it can be quite difficult when there appears to be nothing available and money is beyond tight.

Well my daily tarot card from 'The Druid Craft Tarot Deck'(see the reading below), picked straight up with the money side of things, but also the possibility of building a business - something I have been putting together slowly....with the photos, painting and the crafting.

I decided to see what the Flower Spirit Cards had to say......

My message is surrender.

Surrender is the simple, profound wisdom of yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life. The only place we can truly experience the flow of life is now, in the present, so to surrender is to accept the present moment unconditionally and without resistance. This does not mean giving up, or becoming defeatist, nor does it mean ceasing to make plans or initiating positive action. Surrendering is the most powerful move we can make to bring about positive change. We can say how we feel and take action where necessary, if we simply stay present. When we surrender all judgement and resistance, then the miracle of life unfolds.
If we trust in a higher power and know that we can only live our lives in the present moment, then we can go with the flow more easily and open up to the wonderful blossoming of experiences that unfold around us daily. When we acept what is, every moment becomes the best moment and we gain enlightenment.
Let go and surrender your problems to the creator, releasing the anxiety that comes with trying to control situations the way you want them to be. Become aware of the resistance in your life, then make the intention to relinquish it and become truly concious, by living in the now.

This made me cry when I read it (that could be on account that I've not been sleeping and was very tired), it's a lovely message, but a tough one too...to just surrender.  I know that it's the right thing to do though, as I'm not helping myself by fighting my way through life.  (Apologies to those who have already read this on facebook)
So with both those messages there wasn't any doubt in how I should handle this situation.  However as I'm so tired  and frazzled, and hadn't even really given any thought to blogging, until now, I thought I'd look at today's reading in the book 'The Golden Present' - Sri Swami Satchidananda
It reads as follows....
You Can Influence Your Surroundings
You can build up your strength to the point where you are not influenced by your surroundings; in fact, you can influence the surroundings instead.  You can change the environment if you have the strength of mind; but even if your mind isn't that strong, you can still have the strength not to be affected by the environment.
Learning not to be affected is an important step.  If you are influenced by a situation, how can you change it?  If fifteen people are crying and you go there and join them in the crying, you have simply added one more miserable person; you have not done anything to benefit those people.  Instead, if you are really strong and can maintain your own equanimity, all the people will be benefited by your strength.
Again it's a message of calm composure, trust and inner strength.  I have been focusing on these qualities all day, and along with yoga, meditation and mantra, have been summoning up the strength to let go and trust.  It's difficult when you feel like running round panicking,  but I know it the right thing to do in this situation.  X

Financial Planning.  Building a business.  Using the power of the earth wisely will ensure a strong foundation.  A preoccupation with accumulation may be to protect yourself from inner feelings of loss and inadequacy.  Loss of compassion.  Withholding affection in relationships.  Greed and miserliness.  A sense of safety, security and inner strength.

Flower Spirit Cards

Flower Spirit Cards

I've just started using a set of cards called the Flower Spirit Cards, and how found them amazing to work with.  I was given them a few years ago, but I didn't find that they resonated at all, so I put them up for sale.  In 2 years they haven't sold, so they've sat in the corner of a room waiting to be sold with a pile of other books.  Recently though they have been calling me, so I've pulled them out of the pile, dusted them down and decided to use them.

I was absolutely amazed at the reading I received from it today, it is beautiful..............

Wild Carrot
It is time to soften those hard, overprotective edges of your character to reveal a gentler, more accepting side of yourself.  It is important to be aware of and nurture both our feminine and masculine energies and to create harmony with both.
Have a look at your closest relationships and observe how many different roles you are acting out.  Do you tend to mother and nurture those around you, or do you expect someone else to do that while you concentrate on achieving goals and expressing a more more masculine energy?  Often we fall into set patterns and lose sight of the innate gentleness and acceptance that is in all of us.
Be still and become more whole by accessing the powerful, gentle nurturer within you.  We all need to feel safe and protected in order to open out to our vulnerable soft nature, which is beautiful and soothing.  Take time to notice where you are denying your own gentleness and begin to ease it out into the open again.  Reveal the real you behind your protective shell and witness how much strength you gain by allowing a new vulnerability and honesty into your life.  Your new found softness will be be your strongest guardian from now on and will create more balance in your life

Some of the aspects of this message also link in with the healing that my friend gave me on Saturday, so the message is coming through loud and clear, and has given plenty to think on.

They are a lovely set of cards, I'm so glad they weren't sold in the end.......for everything there is a reason.  X

9th January - Whoops - I was a day early with this - amended now!!!  Raud the Strong's Day - King Olaf Tryggvason of Norway executed Raud by making him swallow a snake. His crime was refusing to give up Asatru. Tryggvason then confiscated Raud`s land and all his other wealth. Praise Raud by lifting a horn (or cup or glass) in his honour, and by doing something deliberate to spread the religion King Olaf tried so hard to stamp out.
